Am I missing something here? This is Airline Pilot Central forums not WX Dudes and airline Office Personnel Central forums: I think the original question was about commuting, as an airline pilot, not your drive to the office in town and why left wing politics is better….which it is not!

Surreal1221, why don't you get back to doing something useful, like guessing a TAF

Threads have a way of getting out of hand. The original question was a simple and easy to understand "Anyone out there tried commuting out of Eagle or Yampa Valley?" It quickly degenerated to the relative virtues of California and Texas, with people vying with each other about the value of their own real estate. Then it deteriorated further into a useless discussion of political leanings. The hubris and meaningless personal commentary continues.

So, if anyone has tried commuting out of Eagle or Yampa Valley, please post your answer. If you have not commuted out of Eagle or Yampa Valley, take your issues and problems private or start another thread.

Once again, what does this have to do with commuting?

Thank you for your very insightful input on commuting and it is noted that you are stuck back in the 90's Eric

Any commuters out of DTW?

Indeed. The best prevention is to buy only high-quality pants.

my comment had nothing to do with commuting. I was just telling you that I would take those 8 years of left wing politics over the current right wing politics anyday.

ahhh the 90's. I don't remember them that much but I know I had a good time.

as with commuting don't do it if you can avoid it. if you had a 3 hr commute you'd be on an airplane 24 hrs more each month and not getting paid for it.

Hee hee. Ok, let me try this again. If anyone has tried commuting out of Eagle or Yampa Valley, please post your answer. If you have not commuted out of Eagle or Yampa Valley, take your issues and problems private or start another thread. Or better yet, go buy yourself a pair of high quality pants.

Do not try living in the mountains. I wouldn't commute even if I owned my own airplane. Get used to hearing this... "CHECK DENSITY ALTITUDE!." I think it is over 11,000ft today!!
These airports are not very well served commercially. Go down the Front Range to Boulder or Golden.

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you see the point in this great gem of internet web server space.

Neither politics is better, but I'm not one who likes to think conservatives are God's gift to America, as they are not.

So yes, I will actually be guessing on three TAF locations tonight, all in support of an Operation that this Administration feels is in the best interest of this country, and our friends in the middle east.

Nevertheless, welcome to the forum, enjoy your stay.

As far as commuting, I'll be trying my damnest NOT to have to commute as a regional pilot. Which is at least a couple of years down the road, but what a nightmare it can be. I have an associate that is now a line CA for AirTran. He use to live in VA and commute and sit reserve at my place in Peachtree City GA. Felt bad for the guy, but it's part of the life. . . deal with it, or don't enter the playing field.
