Alaska Airlines

There doesn't seem to be much talk about Alaska Airlines on this board. I think I would like to live in Anchorage when I retire from the USAF next year and will be looking for a flying job that lets me do that. FedEx would be nice of course but I think Alaska Airlines could be a good choice too. I hear that they are hiring and would like to learn more about the company and their operations. Anybody have any info on them?

I just got home from a vacation in Anchorage and flew Alaska. I talked to a FA and she said that she likes the company, they have good relations with the pilots and that the company is growing. I read that they are increasing their cargo capacity by 20% and going to an all 737 fleet by the end of 08. It seems that their growth is in the Lower 48 and not Alaska however. I also heard that morale amongst the pilots is low because of the pay cuts. And of the four legs that I flew, three were delayed or canceled due to aircraft maintanance problems.
I would like to hear from some current Alaska pilots; what they think of the company.
Cheers,
Razor
