You guys should be proud of yourselves to have brought in the IBT. I have worked with the last two directors there personally, and I have found DB to be a bulldog when it comes to using Teamster resources in order to force companies to the bargaining table. Yeah, I know these companies rather well.

I don't think this thread would be allowed to have enough pages for me to explain why I'd want to work somewhere without a union contract. It would be easier for me to explain what my **** poor union has done to help me. It only takes one word. Nothing.

There's a wide world of flying outside the airlines that are non-union. Talk to anyone who does 135 charter flying and hear what they have to say about non-union shops. You have no idea what ALPA and other pilot unions have done to make your life better.

Sorry, but Omni's pay rates are low, particularly for the type of flying you do. I've known several guys that worked there, and there were things they liked about the place. Pay wasn't one of them.

I don't understand why everyone who has not worked for Omni have a negative opinion that must be expressed? Yet the ones who have experience with Omni say the opposite.
No offense brother, but voting in those hard core SOB's from the IBT means that there are some real problems to be worked out. I personally would not like to work for a company that pays no per diem, but maybe fifteen years ago I may have thought differently. But then, that's me. When Omni gets a fair contract, with the help of the IBT, then they would probably be a great company to work for. I worked for a company that had great captains (myself possibly included), flying into some really tough environments, but it was not until there was legal protection from the union that it was worth working for. For now, I'll keep my job at Micky D's. Next year, assistant manager.

Omni Air is a part 121 airline and to answer another question this thread is in this "major" section because there is no "Charter" section like there is in Airlinepilotcentral.com, maybe there should be a separate section for all the charter/non-sched airlines
