Easy Andy Stern! Here's a few reasons:
1.) Because the starting pay is double what the best "union contract" regional pays.
2.) Atlas doesn't seem to be interested in my domestic lear SIC time
3.) They seem to be the only international carrier hiring that doesn't require time in type or heavy experience

I'm not saying I want to spend the rest of my career there. I more concerned with preparing for opportunity down the road when/if hiring picks up.

What are the competitive mins right know? I applied with around 3300 hrs and 200 Turbojet PIC and havent heard anything. Not that I am surprised

Great logic.

Omni may pay more than a regional but it pays 30 percent below other ACMI airlines that fly the same equipment.

If you don't respect yourself why should anyone respect you.

This is exactly what ASA / Mekong is doing to CRJ contract flying. Pays more than their pathetic pay at ASA, but well below status quo.

The regional cancer continues !

Your logic suggests that unemployment or flipping burgers is more respectful than building heavy time at Omni Air. This is strange because I’ve yet to see an employer who mentions the word union in their experience requirements.

I am confident you will never step foot in a non-union airline, that's fine, nobody will force you to. And I am sure you have a ton of respect for yourself. However, I doubt I'm the only one who doesn't have an ounce of respect for anyone who insists on telling others what is best for them.

Did you ever wonder why these companies like to hire less experienced candidates, instead of the thousands of unemployed, heavy-lift drivers kicking around? With some (and I don't really know Omni), they can get a more "pliable" worker, who really doesn't have the experience to say "NO!". Just one of the things I learned about the non-sked business.

no you do not know Omni - so why talk about them like you know - I have been at Omni 12 years - we are working on our first contract with the Teamsters - things will improve here and I have liked my time here - I will put our Captains up against any in the business - if the thousands of heavy-lift drivers want to come here great, have them send in a resume
