Everyone complains about how bad airline management is today. Well imagine how bad it would be if their salaries were drastically lower than the average for their profession. You would be getting the fresh college MBA grads who think shiny 747's are cool and have absolutely no idea how to run an airline.
CEO's make a lot of money. That's the way it should be. Anyone here can go out and become a CEO. It's a very long path, and you have absolutely no guarentee of making it beyond a shift manager!! You have to remember that we live in a capitalist society.

why is it that the 20 year old snot nose cfi is always the one who says boneheaded things like this? Someone print this off and hand it to him 20 years from now after a career at the hands of these fine CEO's.

You have much to learn grasshopper.

Default Astronomical Pay

For more than 4 years in this business it was hard for me to stay calm when I read about what Mgmt types make...it is nuts! But for the past 8 years, I learned there is nothing you can do! As a capitalist, I know the govt can't fix the problem...check out France if you think the govt can tweak the system here and there and make overall improvements. You are wrong.

I rely on our union to fight for the best contract it can and the rest is out of my control.

Here is what I did in order to take advantage of the system. I have a vending machine business and a few rental properties...I pay my workers (my two teen age sons) **** wages--but they live in a great house w/ board. I sleep much better at night now that I am "The Man" (obviously on a much smaller scale).

The TAX MEN used to drive me nuts as well...but w/ the two businesses and the resulting hundreds of write-offs, I sleep much better.

If you can't beat them, join them...Arpey still won't play golf w/ me???
