Delta line values
#2
At DAL we have PBS and incorporate a ALV (Average Line Value) number in to the PBS run each month. With the line holder guarantee at 65 hrs, the lowest ALV is normally 72 and the highest 83 or so. They can construct lines plus or minus 7.5 hrs from this number they put out monthly.
In the winter months I have seen a slew of lines at 66 hrs and in the summer I see a ton of 89 hr lines.
Line holders can White Slip (WS) open trips that pop up. With our duty rigs a two hour turn pays a min of 5:15 and the same one hour down layover and fly back pay 10:30 so there is a way to make money without flying a ton of block. Seniority in the seat helps.

Those are just the values that PBS will use for line construction. You can pickup more time either from the company or via a pilot-to-pilot swap board. Also, you can drop or trade away all your trips if you want (but then no pay either).

A white slip is a request to pick up a trip on your days off if your a lineholder for normal pay. A green slip is a request to work if they need you on your days off for double pay as a lineholder or straight pay above guarantee as a reserve guy. You will get a white slip trip before if goes to a reserve guy and you will get a green slip trip only if they have no reserves left. The contract lists the priority of trip assignment for both a GS or a WS request.

You can drop as many trips as the reserve coverage will allow which has been very few the last three years I've worked here. Once the reserves available are equal to the reserves required you cannot drop a trip. That usually happens within a few runs of the initial PCS runs where guys start dropping and swapping trips each month. Some months and some categories might allow more drops, but I would be surprised if you could drop all of your trips very often.

Hahahaha......it's exactly like that. That video sums up the "slip" process at Delta to a T!
I think we should change them to Green Vouchers, White Vouchers, and Yellow Vouchers. Wrong color voucher.....and they dock ya!
Oh, you guys didn't even ask about a Yellow slip....you wanna mess up your mind then try and figure out what the heck a yellow slip is and once you have actually submitted one you may not ever get it removed until you retire.

Ha...that is too funny. Actually that sums up the different phases of training that we FNWA dudes went thru...except at least in that parody there was actually someone there you could talk to!
