Default FSI Vero Beach

Besides cost being high, is Fsi in vero beach a good school to attend. I have looked at a lot of academys and fbos and the one that impressed me most was Fsi. I would like to get a lot of feedback from pilots who attended there. Thanks

I've been getting a lot of stuff through the mail and over the internet from FlightSafety Academy and have been wondering the same thing. I do agree; it seems like a good school. But I know from my other posts all the airline and cargo pilots on these forums that 'have been here and done' this prefer FBO's over academies...

Thanks crj200

I work for ASA now in Ops and I will be leaving in 2 weeks to head to FSI. I toured the school 3 times and talked to a lot of students there and from what I have heard, it seems like a good school. Cost are very High and im by far not rich at all. I have a lot saved up to attend so the cost wont be too bad for me. I have read a lot of bad post about dca. I also looked at atp in jacksonville and was not impressed at all. Students and instructers there were telling me to look at other places. I just got a real bad vibe from there.

FSI is a solid school - high standards, relevant education. The "been here and there, been there done that" that employers seem to want I believe stems from what you do AFTER your primary training. FSI offers a solid foundation, good maintenance, sophisticated scheduling (no 'lottery' - your instructor bids), well organized and worth the cost in my opinion. I went there and instructed there, and don't regret a day of it. And, in spite of me being an absolute slacker, I got through...

Thank you for the advise. When did you graduate from there? I'm looking forward to flight training and I have no clue what to expect. How is the work load there? I have a friend who is a cfi there and he is flying 130 hours a month. I got a lot of advise from him however I want more than just one opinion.

I live in southeast ga and the fbo at the airport I work at sucks. The one cfi they have has a bad attitude problem. FSi is only about 3 to 4 hours from home and from what I here is a great school.

I just got an invitation in the mail yesterday inviting me to tour FlightSafety Academy. I plan on using my FBO for all my training (including college) but I still might tour the place sometime.
