Anyone have the current SW retirement data?
DL's - http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/ma...nts-delta.html 2009 6 2010 13 2011 15 2012 24 2013 139 2014 238 2015 278 2016 330 2017 386 2018 469 2019 558 2020 645 2021 830 2022 870 2023 824 2024 811 2025 727 2026 626 2027 522 2028 491 2029 485 2030 509 2031 449 2032 347 2033 271 2034 182 2035 122 2036 103 2037 19 UA/CO - http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/ma...-schedule.html This is about right: Combined UAL/CAL Retirements 2012 270 2013 418 2014 429 2015 387 2016 372 2017 438 2018 426 2019 433 2020 445 2021 518 2022 485 2023 570 2024 510 2025 617 2026 674 2027 670 2028 778 2029 693 2030 731 2031 526 AA - 2012 5 2013 124 2014 173 2015 229 2016 243 2017 279 2018 346 2019 449 2020 544 2021 600 2022 661 2023 706 2024 716 2025 730 2026 706 2027 588 2028 497 2029 470 2030 410 after 2030 the 'year' switches from Jan-Feb to the seniority list year of 'Jul-Jun', so some of the 2031 retirees will already be included in the preceeding 2030 data. So the following years will actually be the data from the preceeding July to June of the year listed. IE, 2031 is actually all retirements from July 1 2030 until June 30 2031. 2031 420 (approx. 50% already including in the preceeding 2030 data) 2032 450 2033 398 2034 326 2035 203 2036 158 2037 116 2038 64 2039 40 2040 34 2041 10 2042 5 2043 1 |
Out of curiosity, doesn't 65 go in effect in the Fall of 2012? I'm surprised to see 270 at new UAL for such little time remaining in 2012.

I just got this from Jeff Smisek, Chairman of United Continental HOLDINGS.
Planned number of outsourced pilots: 2012: 522 2013: 645 2014: 832 2015: 1,217 2016: 1,699 2017: 2,274 You get the point. |
KC135 - Agreed. Doesn't make sense.
Obviously the DL data is old. Not sure what it would look like if it was updated to reflect Age 65 (12/13/2007, impacts 12/12/2012). |
Slickback,
How accurate is your data? These are the numbers I have; Delta / NWA combined 9 - 2011 20 120 203 273 - 2015 326 379 472 560 652 - 2020 831 877 832 821 732 - 2025 632 530 507 506 540 - 2030 396 318 Riddler Planned number of outsourced pilots: 2012: 522 2013: 645 2014: 832 2015: 1,217 2016: 1,699 2017: 2,274 What do you mean by outsourced? Sorry if I'm slow. |
Sorry everyone, I was being sarcastic. My "outsourced" numbers represent the number of additional mainline jobs that management intends to outsource to the lowest bidder. Ask the folks at United or USAir - retirement numbers don't always keep pace with the number of jobs being lost to regional carriers.

As a result, all retirement movement has been made void over the past 10 years due to outsourcing. Way to go. KC |
