Default Will Delta MEC election affect DPA support?

Curious to know, will the results of the upcoming Delta MEC election affect your decision on whether to send an Authorization Card Request to the Delta Pilots' Association?

That's exactly what I'm waiting on to see the direction the MEC is headed. If regime change is necessary, the DPA might be the answer.

I am curious, who would be acceptable as a MEC Chair and who would be unacceptable as a MEC Chair and why.

Discuss.

Well first we need to know who is running and what their platform is.

We can't risk another scope sale. We need unity.

As far as I am concerned Richard can draw what ever lines he wants. I want my next MEC chair to stand firm on the current scope and work to recapture as much as we can below 76 seats.

My first airplane at NWA was a DC-9-10 that held 70ish seats. I want that back scope back.

I've been commuting on the 175 a lot lately. Its a mainline jet. period. The 195 must be really nice.

Everything should be mainline. There should be no "connection" or "express". Delta is Delta, United is United. Come on legacy pilots, get the flying back!!!

Those who believe in trade unionism, and appreciate the resources, structure and ability ALPA has to represent 12,000 airline pilots will stay with ALPA. They realize that DPA does not have the capabilities, structure or resources to not only represent Delta pilots on a day to day basis, but that DPA would be wholly incapable of defending our contract or achieving any meaningful gains in section 6 for years to come.

Those who have a political ax to grind, take unionism for granted, or are driven by their anger and want to stick a fingure in ALPA's eye, despite the harm it will cause in defending our contract or achieving contractual gains, will send in a card,. The election won't matter for the most part to these folks.

I don't think anyone seriously believes that DPA is capable of representing the Delta pilots.

The reps should simply vote for a Chairman who can get things done for the Delta pilots, whoever that may be, and not allow those with a political ax to grind to interfere with the process.
