Default holiday meals (for crews)

On a light note, just curious if any airline's are providing their working crews with meals on the 25th. Heard from a friend that Delta is putting people in a drawing for a few positive space tickets, but no meals, turkey coupons, etc.

We (DAL) have done meals the last few years and this past Thanksgiving. There is going to be a drawing for both international and domestic PS tix for guys who are flying and/or sitting short call for the days that touch Christmas and New Years. Since that applies to me, I'm all for it!

Compass is providing an enhancement to the Delta way of doing meals. We're having shrimp cocktail, O'Douls (for starters), a choice of orange or strawberry sorbet (palate cleanser, obviously), rack of lamb or prime rib, twice baked potato (sweet potato, low carb, duh), candied apples and apple pie. That's on each leg. What a day!!!!! Merry Christmas everyone!

So far in my airline career my "bonuses" for Christmas have been:

1. A turkey coupon at HEB
2. A turkey coupon at HEB
3. A $1 off coupon at Gordon's Galley in IAH (Yes I'm serious!)
4. A $1 off coupon at Gordon's Galley in IAH (Two years in a row!!!)
5. Nothing
6. Double pay for holidays
7. Nothing
8. A sack lunch
9. A sack lunch
10. A chance to win some FC tickets (What are the odds? I'll take a sack lunch)

Back in the old McDonnell Douglas Days, every year each employee would either receive a canned ham or a 5 pound block of cheese. Really.

No remarkable coincidence that they were from a country where we had sold a new airplane.

Lets see: TCAS; that will be 16,400 hams. ACARS; that's 17,850 blocks of cheese.

Both my wife and I worked there so we would get one of each and use them for our Christmas Eve party.

Best I've ever seen was the year ASA handed out frozen Turkeys. Yes, the morons gave working crew members frozen birds. Pilots pretty much passed the opportunity to carry a Turkey around for four days. Flight Attendants latched on to these things like they were precious family heirlooms. Some carried two or three. The carcasses rode around in RJ and ATR overhead bins dripping on passengers' heads until they were soggy, moldy, mush.

Nice gesture from management who had absolutely no clue about what their employees did for a living.

Kudos to Delta for creatively thinking of something the working stiffs might actually be able to use.
