Most military air traffic control facilities that use the GIANT KILLER call sign maintain direct communications to weapons capable flight squadrons; the "killer" portion of the call sign may be more than a coincidence.
I think this is a little dramatic :)
As mentioned above - SoCal control is 'BEAVER', further south of 'GIANT KILLER' is 'SEA LORD' and down around the Gulf of Mexico it is 'SEA BREEZE' if I remember correctly. Nothing ominious there :rolleyes:
