Quote: Also at Delta, if you return from a Medical LOA you can get your full sick leave bank restored if you send a letter to the Chief Pilot. This can be used once every four years.
Sorry, but why do we need to write a letter to the Chief Pilot....it should be done automatically.

Because only the pilot knows his own medical condition. If he suspects he may be going back out on disability with 1-2 years, he may wish to wait until coming back from the 2nd one before resetting it.

We all hate the 75% rule and hope it gets eliminated in the next contract; in the meantime, let each pilot manage his own affairs.

So if the pilot does not know about the policy, than is the recharge just lost?

Quote: I am very junior, but I hated the way the NWA policy limited how many times you could call in sick in a year without a doctor's note. I can't remember how many it was, but it was not very often (like 2-3 times per year). I definitely felt undue pressure to fly sick at NWA. I don't feel that at Delta. I think the long term sick leave was a lot better at NWA if you had a lot of hours banked. That's indisputable.
It was 4 times a year.
