Delta goes way up, United goes way down in July on-time numbers

Delta Air Lines improved its on-time number by 10 percentage points in July, while United Airlines saw a 10-point drop compared to July 2010.
As a result, Delta jumped nine places, from 15th to sixth, while United dropped 10 places from third to to 13th in the U.S. Department of Transportation rankings for the month.

The answer is pretty obvious, really. Delta finished their merger and intensified their operational focus. UAL is in the midst of the process.
It will be interesting to watch SWA.
