Where's ED !!!!!!!!!!!

CallmeEd 10-04-2006 11:50 AM

Let me start out by saying I have tried to tone it down for our sensitive types here to no avail. If, after I have apologized for being a little too whatever you choose to call it, you cannot get back to the business of being profesional, so be it. All your "I am going to call you outs" and the "If I were giving you a checkride" threats from a 19 year old C-421 pilot are proof of how unprofessional some of you are. None of you have any idea of my flying abilities and yet you choose to continue your childish insults and chatter. I could go on the internet and look up any question anybody chose to ask me to PROVE myself to who? I am not looking for anybody's approval here and I am certainly not asking for anything from anybody. I initially chose to ask some questions and it got out of control from there. I have yet to see any proof that anybody here is who they say, yet some of you think I have to pass your worthiness test to be here. If you don't want to exchange information with me then please don't. I promise I won't act like a child and throw a temper tantrum like many of you and ask to see copies of your certificates and pass a 20 question test. An earlier poster said aviation is a small world. Not true! Aviation is a big world with a lot of small people.

How about just flying your Citation to the headquarters of any major airline, be that IAH, DFW, ATL, etc. Go to the employment office of any of these major carriers and tell them the same story you've told us. Fill out an application and stand by the phone for the interview call. Best of luck.

Is it who you know? 3. Also, I hear that when you jumpseat on most airlines they usually put you in first class. 4. Is this the norm? 5. Is there a charge to jumpseat? Thanks guys for the advice. I figure I have about 10 years to conquer the major airline captain thing and want to get started.

I'll make it easy for you and answer your questions.
1. NO. 2. YES. 3. NO. 4. YES. 5. NO.
Personally I don't think anybody, especially a doctor, is really that ignorant. However, this thread has been worth it for the entertainment value. Keep looking for that new challenge.;)

Awww. Poor Ed. Sounds like his feelings were hurt.

Ed, Like I said before- prove to ME that you have only misguided intentions (and perhaps a bit of an ego/attitude issue), and I'm more than willing to help you out with some suggestions and constructive criticism. I've helped at least 2 dozen other folks land airline jobs in the past 5 years, and have plenty of contacts at just about every airline out there through my work in the union, the university system, and my former employer. If you're really serious about your career, then PM me. I'd be happy to talk on the phone, but you have to justify why I should spend my time, without getting all bunched up.

Now now Doctor, if you want to make it in the aviation world---you will need a much thicker skin dude. These guys are harsh for a reason, because just like your previous job---bad decissions in not so good situations=loss of life. That would be way to the bad side on the GOOD-BAD scale. That holds true if a plot's flying aircraft in combat or flying around the pattern at your local airport. We can't afford to be pussies Doc, and if you can't handle the heat, then you really want to think twice about considering this as a career choice. Hope you stick around Ed, it's been extremely entertaining. Although, you really do need to humble up a bit dude. I'd be glad to haze you a bit more, but I'm not sure it's gonna do any good.

Jolly's out

I don't know what you expected, you certainly ruffled the feathers of many a person on this forum. Aviation is an industry in which you must earn your way to the top, much like many others and coming into a place with many airline pilots, both First Officers and Captains alike and saying that you are over the whole intern thing, dont want to copy clearences and get coffee, and that all pilots do is operate the seat belt sign is going to turn more than a few people against you. If you want them to come around, humble up. You dont have to prove anything to us, because this is just an internet forum, however you need to learn that in the airline world you start at the bottom and work your way up, no matter what you have done previously.

Come now, he's a DOCTOR, and a darn good one just ask him. Obviously makes up for his "short" comings elsewhere.

Reminds me of the joke

What do you call the guy that finishes last in his class at med school........

Doctor. Enough said.
