How close are we to reaching that "final pilot to be recalled"? I have the master seniority list, but I wasn't sure how far down the list they had gotten.

We're down to about 649 who haven't yet been offered recall. At current deferral rates, they expect to be through that list by this December/early 2012. Most junior pilot getting recalled today has a TWA hire date of 2/00 which = an AA hire date of 4/01. The last pilot on the furlough list was hired just prior to 9/11/01.

Also, I do know for a fact that if you by-pass a recall, you can call and accept it at anytime.

??? The worded is tough to understand.

IF they're recalling, and IF you're senior enough, you can take a recall slot.

Right now with the first recall class in November cancelled, and no word on when training for recallees while resume(late November or....???) it doesn't matter how senior you are, there is no class scheduled so you can't "accept it at anytime".

Also, as I understand it, when they get to the last guy and you haven't accepted your recall, you remain on the list indefinitely, but you start to loose seniority.

When they get to the end of the list the three year clock starts. After 3 yrs if they're recalling or hiring, you either accept the recall or quit.

Down to less than 650!! They are blowing thru that list quickly. Last I heard that they were getting 1 in 8 to come back, and it should only get worse the further they go down the list.

Bring on the app window!!

Should Chaper 11 arrive, it wouldn't surprise me to see this 3 year window disappear (especailly, if it is part of or closely followed by a U merger/buyout). I could see a much more immeadiate requirement to either accept recall or be considered resigned after the 1113 motions start flying.

No....incorrect. Last furloughee called starts the clock. No one "loses" seniority...just no length of service accrual while off the property.

Knowing that the November class was CXLD due to retirement training......does anyone have or know of a projection to when recall classes will resume?

I think that many people are waiting for the new year to take the recall....I am. Why spend the holidays in school?

Short answer? No.

Long answer? No.

December job vacancy should be out Wednesday or Thursday. Upgrades have been averaging 25 per month. 208 Captains have retired the last two months. It will be interesting to see how many upgrades they can generate for the December job run.

That's just for the initial upgrades. Multiple that by n/b to w/b upgrades, n/b FO to w/b FO, and you're just starting to scratch the size of the question you asked.

Does the union grant relief? I think that is beyond DOA. That issue generated the largest input from the membership to the leadership ever. If anything the negative response has grown. No relief = manning/training crunch continues.

So absent relief outside of Section 6 the solution is via Section 6. Does the company want a deal? How quickly? Will the company choose BK? If yes, when?

Sooooo.... when do you think AA will restart recalls? ;)

That did not happen to United, Delta, Northwest or US Air in bankruptcy.
I doubt it will happen at AA either.
