Where does the AA Recall stand?

The way I understand it, they go through the list 3 times and offer recall. After the third try, they offer recall in reverse seniority. At which time you begin losing seniority and they will begin hiring off the street. Am I close?

No.. I think you have 3 years from the first time you decline a class..

You have 3 years, from when the last furloughed pilot is offered recall - during which time the Eagle pilots and new hires will be coming on. At the end of the three years (if they are still hiring), they will offer a final recall, in reverse seniority. If you don't accept at that time - you've quit. The small question I'd have at that time (three year point), is whether they would do a mass calling and then place everyone in classes per seniority, or make monthly calls like they are now.

Referencing the above, they'd already be bringing on new hires at that point - they "might" just do a mass final recall at the three point, just to get it done with.

I could also be wrong, but a furloughed pilot can defer recall when recalled. That pilot can un-defer at any time as long as recall is still being offered. After all pilots have been offered recall, then the 3 year clock begins for pilots that have deferred...I think. I don't know what happens to the clock if recalls are stopped.

There is no change in seniority, unless a merger or arbritraitor (sp) decides otherwise.

The size of the recall class has been reduced due to school house capacity, but as of today, recalls are to be expected for quite a while.

"Mass recall" to clear the list? Who knows. :confused:

That's exactly how I understand it too.

A "mass recall" would be interesting. What if all accepted? There is no way to train a few hundred pilots on one recall based on the current status of Fort Knowledge (Flight Academy).

All recalls would be on the payroll as of the recall date, then sent home for a few months until there are instructors, classrooms, simulators, etc. availabe to train them. Not going to happen, imo.

How close are we to reaching that "final pilot to be recalled"? I have the master seniority list, but I wasn't sure how far down the list they had gotten.

Also, I do know for a fact that if you by-pass a recall, you can call and accept it at anytime.

Also, as I understand it, when they get to the last guy and you haven't accepted your recall, you remain on the list indefinitely, but you start to loose seniority.

That is what happened in 1996. All remainng pilots on furlough got recalled and stayed home with pay until a class was available.
And that was so the company could increase the monthly bid lines from 75 to 78 hours.
