Scope Proposal at American

American Offers Pilot Contract With Vote Call - Bloomberg

The offer would set separate pay rates and rules for pilots on aircraft of fewer than 125 seats, creating a “B” wage scale.
American also wants to expand a so-called code-share agreement with Alaska Airlines to fill gaps in its U.S. West Coast network. It would start similar relationships with US Airways Group Inc. (LCC) on a Boston-New York-Washington shuttle where flight limits prevent American from adding its own service, and with JetBlue Airways Corp. (JBLU) in New York, so the carriers would be able to book American passengers on those flights.
The code share sounds scary.

ALPA has traditionally fought the RJ at mainline, with RJ pay rates, idea ... even when pilots are on furlough. (examples include US Air, Northwest and Delta). This reads like management negotiating in the press more than anything else.

There is no need for the Bombardier C series, or similar jet to pay less than similar mainline jets and no need for it to be outsourced.

Wow. They're just going for it all! Code share with 3 different carriers AND a B Scale?

.

What, we love our Alaska code share over at Delta. If airlines like Delta and American put all their passengers on Alaska, they might have to grow and grow.

Oh. Maybe not a good idea for Delta or American pilots.

Sounds like they want talks to fail.

My thoughts exactly. They(mgmt) know that pilot costs are not the problem. This way they can blame it on the pilots when they file.

NO, NO, Hell NO.

Vote NO to offer and YES to Strike! Enough of this crAAp!

Sounds bad all around. They really don't even seem to be trying for an agreement.

Sad part is 30% would probably vote for this for just a raise. If it passed by 56% it would be called, "a overwhelming majority" ;(

I wouldn't say "most" would vote for this... there is a minority here that is convinced the sky is falling... but the majority will never vote for this.

Like I said above, 25% up front and 7% per year is a good start for me to consider voting Yes. Anything less is concessionary and an insult.
