After the SLI, I think Atlanta.

I'm assuming that you're asking about F/Os as the Cptn's side has a little variance on junior/senior from the F/O bases.

On the F/Os side:

Senior: DAL & HOU

Mid-level: BWI, MDW

Junior: MCO, PHX, LAS & OAK

And of course with a new base being announced and opened in the next year, that will all get stirred up.

My bet (so this will evidently never happen), is either it will be DEN and the west coast bases will become more junior or it will be LAX and LAX will go at around the same seniority as LAS/PHX.

The only thing that's relatively certain is that a new base or two will be announced and it will change everything.

Can a current SWA pilot view the number of FO vacancies at each base (not sure how that works)? If so, would you mind sharing? I'm expecting OAK but am curious, especially about MCO.

Also, does anyone have some good info on where to live if based in OAK? I'm planning to relocate to my base since I'm not too keen on the idea of cross-country commute. I've been looking at places in Alameda for starters.

Depends, do you have any guerilla warfare training?

Are you ready for the high taxes and cost of living in California. Unless you have kids, you'd be much better off getting real estate bargains (rent or buy) in LAS/PHX (NV has no state tax and low property taxes) as long as you can put up with the hot summers (PHX is 5-10 degrees hotter than Vegas). I'm not with SWA but know a lot of them (a lot of retired USAF went to SWA) and LAS would be a great start as a junior guy - other SWA guys feel free to chime in.
