Default Carry on bags and jumpseating on Spirit

Anybody know if when jumpseating on Spirit if they will charge the $100 fee for bringing a bag or 2 on the flight? Thanks...

If you're in uniform and a jumpseater, you will not be charged for the bags. I never have been anytime I've ridden Spirit. The crews are great and the nice thing is, there will actually BE overhead space when you get on board.

No non revs, including jumpseaters are subject to any bag fees. Our crews take excellent care of our jumpseaters, and as mentioned above, because of the bag fees, there's almost always space for your bag in an overhead bin. Welcome aboard!

When I rode Spirit as a jumpseater they could of not been nicer (LGA-MYR). I showed up about an hour early in uniform and filled out the paperwork. Make sure you say thanks to the crew for the ride. I was given an emergency exit seat and was offered food and drinks for free. Painless.

Every single time I have jumpseated on Spirit, I have been treated excellent by the crews. They will put you in a big seat if available, give you free drinks, and help you find space for your bag (not an issue anymore now that they charge for carry-ons). As cheap as Spirit is, they probably take the best care of jumpseaters of any airline out there.

Spirit Crews have always been nice when I have jumpseated. Believe it or not, the gate agents, and ticket counter agents have been nice too

Will they take corporate/135 cargo guys? I hear that if you don't have a reciprocal, they will charge you taxes. True?
