The time value of money arguement is very apparent. It was mentioned at least 3 times at the c44 meeting and RA has been saying it any chance he gets at the check airman meetings. He has brought up airways, AA, even UCAL. The sad thing is people are buying it hook line and sinker. I spoke to a check airmen in the crew room this weekend and asked him if he heard the rumors 4 8 3 3, and what he thought.
His answer was its not great but I can take it. Its close to my survey numbers and its nice to have something in the pocket now and not have to wait for a while. Plus what really got me was his comment that we can make gains now and set the stage for our next contract. NO our next contract is NOW.
This is what scares me the most. We all read the message board and they seem pretty unified but how many pilots out there do not and are content with a POS like 4 8 3 3. I hope its not many but I am getting very worried something like that will pass.
PROVE ME WRONG FELLOW DELTA PILOTS

ALPA National refuses to use the term "outsourcing" for the simple reason, for them, it is flying done by pilots under ALPA contracts, it isn't outsourced. They don't see individual airlines the same way the members of each airline see things.

That is precisely the point.

I fully get, understand and appreciate the time value of money. I would rather take small raises than give up work rules / scope! In my opinion, our jobs are NOT for sale. I hope our reps feel the same way.

Absolutely. If the MEC doesn't turn down a turd TA, and then it is voted down after the "time value of money" spin, then the DPA will have another chance. This had better not be a "cost neutral" contract for the company, with us giving concessions to pay for other things. We gave enough in BK. I will be the top recruiter for the DPA if that happens. No pressure DALPA!

TVM....thats the spin this time? What a joke.... hope thats not the case, it would just trigger a no vote for me

I get endless pools, health master blenders and bissell carpet cleaners. I don't get what that means.

Assuming the vote has to be taken by Monday at the latest, is the session open meeting or closed? I can't believe that there is anything of a non-disclosure nature in a simple yes or no vote. Nor, is there anything secret as far as how an individual rep votes.

The vote needs to be in open session.

Well until it happens I'd like my extra 30% to build my bomb shelter. You can come stay in mine if you'd like.

We may have it good at Delta, but anyone who tells you it couldn't be better needs to quit mixing the crack pipe and the kool-aid.

I flew with a guy on my last trip who said he wants a new DB plan...

As my GF says: "there's no fixin' stupid"
