He will answer all your questions depending on time. You might not like the answer but he walks the walk. He knows this industry inside and out and has figured out how a legacy carrier can thrive.Originally Posted by Timbo

Well he should know this industry by now, he's been around a long time.
He was one of Frank Lorenzo's Lawyers at CAL, when he took Eastern apart.

We also find that Richard Anderson wasn't confined to simply one aspect of the airline industry but had worked in many different departments which further increased his knowledge. Everything from recruiting to compliance was in his bag of tricks. Consider the following:
"Harris County Criminal Court, Texas, 1978-1987, chief counsel, then assistant district attorney; Continental Airlines, 1987-1990, staff vice president and deputy general counsel; Northwest Airlines, 1990-1994, vice president and deputy general counsel; 1994-1996, senior vice president of labor relations; 1997-1998, senior vice president of technical operations and airport affairs; 1998, executive vice president of technical operations, flight operations, and airport affairs; 1998-2001, executive vice president and COO of facilities, airport affairs, and regulatory compliance; 2001-2007 CEO" (Answer.com, 2006). In 2007 he moved to Delta Airlines as CEO.

Yep, he's great. Very personable and, I found him, real. Sat in coach and chatted up the crew. Very comfortable.Originally Posted by Timbo

But I don't think the new guy, RA2, ever shows up at the airport, does he? I've yet to hear anyone say, "I just had Richard on my flight and he came up to the cockpit and said..."
Over the years I've had most other CEOs stop by to say Hi. Leo, Gerrry, even Mo'Ron once gave me a ride to the employee paking lot up in Beantown, when he and his boys were up there a long time ago. He didn't talk much, but he did let me ride with him.
Has anyone seen Richard at the airport, or had him on a flight?
Or does he only fly on the GV at Delta Air Elite?
I've had him on a couple of flights. Every time he came to the cockpit about 15 minutes before boarding and talked to us well into boarding. First class had open seats and he still sat in coach. Admittedly it was a short flight but he has always come up front to talk. Very knowledgable about the operation.Originally Posted by Timbo
