Per the PWA, 0 additional 76-seaters are allowed until Delta increases the mainline fleet from where it is right now.
The TA allows them to increase 76-seaters by 70 airframes without increasing the mainline fleet from where it is right now.
That is a win... just not for us.

I'd rather ask for protection from substitute airplanes and airlines.

I think you are being a little disingenuous here. Alpa is saying without the TA they predict about 1800 new hires (thru 2016) and with the TA they predict 2900 new hires (thru 2016). So I see them predicting about 1100 new hires with the TA. Take a look at the last 2 slides of the Touch and Go. Not saying I agree or disagree with the numbers just that you need to look at the whole document.

So I see them predicting about 1100 new hires with the TA. Take a look at the last 2 slides of the Touch and Go. Not saying I agree or disagree with the numbers just that you need to look at the whole document.

Maybe someday you will understand that what this TA does is track inflation by selling 2 more viable Compass sized airlines out from under the DAL pilots.
Plus it is concessionary for workrules.
Plus the company was going to do the other things anyway - like buy the airplane you are covetting.

Can't hit a homerun when the other teams can't get out of the dugout. No pattern bargaining with our peers means get the deal done with as many improvements as we can get, keep it short in duration, and get a good raise, which 19.7% in 3 years accomplishes. Going the longer section six way won't give us anything better, and it will take longer. Supposed leverage is a hunch at best, and RA already warned about plan B. It's not that hard to understand.
Or it's not engagement, it's infringement.

We had ACTUAL scope language that we thought disallowed a RAH style holding company abuse. We were wrong because the company said they'd found a loophole and our "union" agreed with management. That's with ACTUAL language. Now we have "predictions" from people, not contract language, but "predictions"...and we're giving that credence? Really?
Alfaromeo (a member of our MEC administration) has posted here that "this TA includes an additional 1,000 mainline jobs." That's not only completely incorrect, but it's an example of why some of us are referring to this as a sales job. The 88 717's are NOWHERE in this TA. They are only in a press release from management, and that's just one example. Personal predictions, emails from management, and press releases from management are NOT contract language.

Sometimes a good deal comes up early that can help both parties. If you don't want to be a part of that at that time, you may lose out. You may want to re-read RA's message, it doesn't seem vindictive, rather matter of fact. Roll the dice....
