As an outsider views it:

West: We got an award, pony up so we can get paid!
East: It sucks and is unfair, so if we can't change it, we'll delay it until infinity!
Company: Who cares? Got got pilots for teh cheap!

So the West won't move because they don't want to give into the East. The East won't move because they feel they are do better with no agreement at all, than the SLI (which may be true).

The demograpics have changed since 4 years ago. You guys might want to revisit the table to see if something new can be worked out to move forward, but that will never happen because:

The West will only consider the SLI award, despite the fact that compromising would lead to movement towards a joint contract. "We won fair and square and we don't reward bad behavior"...while the clock ticks on and the East, in reality, HAS won, with what amounts to an indefinate fence.

The East MIGHT consider coming back, but as long as the West insists that it's the award or nothing, that will never happen, so delay is better. Since they're in the majority, it's tough nuts.

Take a couple a guys from each side, and a blank legal pad, lock them in a room for a weekend, and see what turns up.

You guys have to make a choice....face the facts that it will be separate ops forever, or you need to set aside your positions and come to some sort of agreement. Either way you all need to give it a rest, because the rest of us are tired of hearing about it.

You have no clue. The west "won' nothing, the east refused to compromise and forced an arbitration and selected Nicolau. So now in your infinite wisdom you propose the west give even more than the east already has taken? The west only wants what it was agreed to and let me repeat, we have "won" nothing. Unless of course you consider keeping what we had and getting 25% of the upgrades going forward as a "win".

I rest my case. Enjoy the status quo.

Quote: Not sure I follow you. Every merger I've been a part of had no bump, no flush, so how would we be better off by not capturing our attrition? Where we have paid for it has been living with our lousy contract.
The Southwest/Airtran merger is definitely bumping Airtran pilots.

That merger is unlike any I've seen and they agreed to it. Some will be bumped, US found many ways around no bump-no flush with PI. My point is there is usually no system wide bid that realigns things and you are better off to have the position ahead of time.

Pretty close and I understand you are tired of hearing it. I was thinking about how the DL/NW list was constructed with regard to relative position moving forward and spun into the same old crap.

What, followed the guidelines of our transition agreement? Move on cacti.
