Good evening all,
Trying to get a feel for any weight restrictions on the ATH-PHL run operated by the 762 for US Airways. I seem to remember hearing that this flight has operational restrictions. Just checking to see if anyone can either confirm or deny that statement. I had a US Airways employee check the load for my travel date. Wide open in Envoy but a handful of seats in Economy are open. It shows the capacity being 186 in Y, but authorized to 173. Perhaps I am mistaken, but would that not signify they have blocked out those seats potentially for the weight issues. I likely am looking into it too much, but for those of us that have been ballsy enough to nonrev to Europe during summer high season, getting left behind is not fun. Thanks for any input you guys might have.
Cheers!

From what I remember our 76s have lower gross weights than some other -200s and there are weight issues with ATH.

13 seats is more than crew rest ... 1 Envoy seat and a few in coach would be it, I think. 3 pilots and 6 FAs on a 767 international, and somebody has to work! Probably is a planned payload restriction. Of course, those numbers would be subject to last minute revision and our crews will take all they can, dependent on the days payload and fuel needs, of course. (Our cargo sales people do a terrific job of filling up the holds on our transatlantic stuff.)
I would (standing recommendation for Europe in summer) get a ZED to somewhere with lots of options home. Get an LH ZED to FRA, where US has two CLT and two PHL flights daily in the high season, all on 330s. If you need the ZED, you have it ... and if you don't you can get it refunded when you get home.
Good news for the future, though ... I understand that ATH will be going to the 330 beginning next year ... more seats, more space.
