Default will NWA pilots honor mechanic strike?

The thought occurred to me that if the NWA mechanics strike, the pilots and F/A's should be in lockstep and not cross picket lines.

Just announcing this to the media would surely pull management's ability to find a long term scab replacement worker solution, as the airplanes would be parked en masse with passengers scrambling-- and immense pressure to compromise mgmt's take-it-all position.

Will NWA pilots cross the mechanic picket lines?? If so, I don't understand why ALPA isn't helping when the stakes are this high.

Does ALPA think that the mechanics did all they could ….. do they understand the plight of the industry? Do they know that they are the best paid in the industry? The two unions have not been agreeing on very much lately. My bet is they will not honor the lines. It also helps NW file and they want to file...thats my thought anyway.

Default The "Eastern" road

Sounds far too much like the events leading up to the Eastern fallout and termination. Jobless doesn't help anyone union or none, kind of a scary time!

I would highly recommend that you pick up a copy of Hard Landing by Thomas Petzinger Jr. When I was new to the industry, a Capt.. I flew with told me it was the "must read" book of the airline industry. I think he was right. It's pretty much a history of the airlines, those who made them great, and those who destroyed them. You could probably find a copy in the library but I would recommend that you get your own copy as a reference. It's available in paperback. Hope this helps.
