That might be true but still overall Southwest has the quickest turn around time when they are not delayed. So for them there is no need for red eyes. Sometimes though I do feel they over work their aircrafts

Because the primary reason for the redeye is to feed the East Coast hubs. Since SWA doesn't operate in a strictly hub and spoke system, the need isn't as great. It doesn't mean it won't happen, but the driving force isn't as high.

I think the model can still work with a point to point carrier simply to improve utilization. I find it hard to believe that jetBlue's Redeyes are feeding their JFK or BOS hubs. I would bet that >50% of the pax on those flights is headed to Ny or Bos. They also do redeye island turns, leaving JFK around 11pm, going down to places like Aguidilla Puerto Rico, turning around and coming back to JFk before the morning push.
For SW I think they could fill the airplane with small businessmen who want to finish work one day and get to the east coast before the start of business the next. Airplanes are time machines for small businesses.
I'll bet they could make money leaving from the west coast business centers: LAX, SFO, LAS, SAN and heading to BWI, ATL, PHL, LGA or even MDW, DAL

I think SWAPA helped price us out of the red-eye market.
We held the line on Avg Daily Guarantee and anything that crosses midnight forces at least one more day of pay (6.5 TFP).
So a two day of red-eye's would pay the three day guarantee.
Pretty sure that's not the way it pays at other airlines.
