Basically if your a white male with less than 5 LOR's it will be a loooong time before getting the call, it's just the way it is. I worked on the ramp and operations for 5 years at Delta and still couldn't get a call for interview when they were hiring. I had very limited sick days and no problems while working there.

So, maybe late 2015/2016 for the average joe pilot if lucky.
I think it will end up being much more than 300 hired next year. Also, I did not meet any of your items that you listed for getting the interview. I was just simply a pilot at the regionals. You never know if you don't try.

My guess is that Delta never sends a request to your carrier and the whole act of signing the waiver is a scare tactic.

I know the company I worked at would not provide any more information than the required PRIA reports. Anything else opens them up to being sued.

I was not in any of your categories and was one of the first hired in the 2007 wave. It will likely be well north of 300 bodies added.

With that being said, DAL looks like a great opportunity after all the flows have gone..
Probation is one year, 400 hours, or CA upgrade. I hit 400 hours at 8 months. The only thing noticeable about probation is the amount of drinks bought for you on layovers.

Delta will always have a list a mile long of qualified guys who want to work there.

Wrong airline pal. I was hired early 07' with none of the above. You may wanna lose the chip before an interview.

Don't buy into the "I won't get hired because I'm a white male" crap. The guys spreading that stuff around are typically guys that know they are unlikely to be hired for some other reason and looking to blame it on anything but themselves. Get your stuff together and apply and keep networking.

Wow, it only took me 5 1/2 years to get off probation!

Of course, getting furloughed with 290 hours and 8 days short of a year helped. My first day back I was told, "Keep your mouth shut for 8 days, then you can unload."

Agreed, a negative attitude cop-out is all it is.
