Default ORD Crew Rate Hotels

Anyone have any listings for hotels that give good crew rates?

Might be based in ORD soon and seeing if there are any decent options nearby at good rates. PM if you would like.

Thank you in advance all!!

Rates from my time based in ORD 2 years ago...

Best Western...around $50 (rate fluctuates $44-$60) and Sports Bar attached--my favorite "cheap" place.
(847) 296-4471

Comfort Inn $49 (Sells out of Airline Rate quick)
(847) 635-1300

Quality Inn $37 (Cheapest around but absolute dump)
(847) 678-0670

Plus whoever your carrier has a contract with. UAL guys get $50 at the attached Airport Hilton.

Thank you for the info! It really helps and gives me a place to start if I head out there.

Our Doubletree actually has really good rates. Got them for $60 all in a night back in May

4 points was $50 out the door. I even checked in at 9am and didn't leave till 4pm the next day and they only charged for one day. Pretty cool I think.

Newbie question re crew rates: do they generally expect you to be "on duty" or preparing/finishing a trip, or is personal travel OK? In uniform and/or want to see airline ID? Only certain airlines (eg, those which use the hotel for overnights, or serve that airport, etc.)?

Is it as easy as calling a hotel near (how near?) a given airport and asking for their crew rate?

Airline I'd should work fine. Quality Inn Schiller Park is not a dump. Old but clean. $45 out the door.

You should expect to be asked to show your airline ID at check in. Uniform is not required, and they don't care whether you are on duty or not.

Generally when the hotel enters a contract to provide crew rooms for an airline, they will also offer a rate to crew of that airline who want to book rooms on their own. Other perks like free breakfast or free wifi may also be included.

Hotels who don't house crews may not have crew rates, but they may have a general "airline employee" rate that is usually higher but still provides some discount. Your union's hotel committee should be able to provide more details on specific hotels.
