I believe they have over 300 MD-80s. It will take a long time to phase in a new A/C type.

Would they have the balls to go A320 while calling them selves "American" Airlines?

***Edited. Sry I was reading on the A340 and when typing it popped into mind. I was meaning A320/21.

We have roughly 75 +/- 2 737-800s. If not mistaken we had orders for 125 and options (originally for something like 400). The remaining orders were given to Qantas back in 2002.
