Obviously American will be phasing out the MD 80. I noticed there are some Airbuses actually in LGA base. I thought the 737 would pick up the MD 80 slack. Anyone know the plans for LGA base as far as domestic aircraft? Will 737 grow? Or will we be seeing airbus growing at LGA ? They did say even with the giving up of slots, etc, AA, and specifically, LGA and dca will remain virtually same size.

Wow, that will be interesting to see how senior the A321 transcontinental out of JFK goes. I wonder how big that base will become (how many crews to do just that). On one hand I could see it getting menotinous doing the same stuff over and over, but then again, if it's easy stuff who cares? Any idea how many busses will be used for this, and will it be a "forever" thing, keeping in mind that forever doesn't exist, especially in airlines?

762s are gone by summer 2014 (last I saw.)
763s, about half (28 a/c) will slowly be phased out over several years the other half stay.
757s, all domestic birds will eventually be phased out over 5 years or so (about 70 a/c.) ) the International 757s (about 20) will stick around.
Current fleet count shows 59 763s and around 90 757s. 762s are down to around 10 and about 1 or 2 per month are heading out to ROW.
