Why would they assume that they are going to a wwe wrestler?

People talk about attrition as if retirements all of a sudden is a new thing in aviation, people are talking about the projected hiring in the next 20 years and that just makes me laugh, as if there have EVER been 20 years of uninterrupted growth and prosperity in this business:rolleyes: there is nothing that tells me that this is just another up cycle in a very cyclical business, as a matter of fact, it doesn't look like there will be as much hiring as prior to 9/11, remember when all majors were taking 80 pilots/month? And guess what the conversation was back then, "XX hours with this and that qualification and xx degree and not a single call" :D

Yes, it really is. I had nine internal recommends, and six external ones w/ about 3700TT and military. After about 3000 hours, they're looking for other things, folks.

Which means any one of us who was "assisted" at sometime in the past needs to step up, go an extra mile for "new" guys and gals.
