Pilots can be converted to short call 2 times. If converted 3-5 times and unused, one hour is added to guarantee each time, giving a max of 76 hours. Pilots can not be converted more than 5 times Starting on the 6th unused, you will be paid an additional hour (ie- 2 hours of add pay).Reference: 3-C-1-b-(1)-(b) And I don't believe the 1:3.5 trip rig has kicked in yet. |

did you see how next month all the PDX and SFO's are 2 day? But the time on the ground is less than 12 hours ... that's a bit tight, and might cause delays. This may also have to do with the daylight savings time schedule for Summer.
Yeah, I had hopped rigs were in better shape too... we may have to do some heavy lifting (again) to bring those rigs up a bit.. 2010 we did it for hourly pay.. so it's par for the course. would love to hear from someone at Alaska on what they got in their most recent contract.. I think we need to look more seriously at international overrides and night overrides .. looks like the guys at JetBlue have all of us beat in that department. A guy flying a trip to Japan or Australia should get a premium over the guy doing the west coast milk runs.. 5 hours per duty period 1 hour of credit per 2 hours of duty (never seen this) 1 hour of credit per 3.5 hours time away from base International pay is $5/hour for captains, $4/hour of FOs No night pay |

There weren't any changes to Alaska's rigs in the last contract. They are as follows:
5 hours per duty period 1 hour of credit per 2 hours of duty (never seen this) 1 hour of credit per 3.5 hours time away from base International pay is $5/hour for captains, $4/hour of FOs No night pay We want to raise our rigs here, but we'd have had a much stronger leg to stand on if others had done something since 2010 when we did our last contract. Productivity is as much a give back as wages.. people don't' get that tho. They see $200/hr and get all wet thinking about it.. sigh. |

I think if we can't improve our rigs, we need to add a 5 hour minimum day and add the words "or greater" to the language to read something like "rig, 5 hour min day or whatever is greater" to drive efficiencies. It would also be great to extend that 5 hr min day to vacation and training too.
