CB,
Please excuse my momentary lapse! It was a new low and I am so ashamed!
Actually my previous had to do with the rip off by the BR courts etc. When you posted that going to vegas was a better bet on LUV I actually painfully agree! Time for some airlines to be removed from the scene so those that are managed well can be more successfull.
You also reminded me of a squadron mate from the late 80's who stated "Southwest is a great company, but I am not paying for my type rating." I have heard that one so many times it is growing a beard. He then was furloughed by two companies only to get a type rating 4 yrs later. He was then turned down when he applied to SWA. I think he is working for FDX now so I am sure he is doing fine. He just whined the whole time so FDX can have him. Cheers!

Paying for a type is an investment. IMHO, SWA wants to see if people are willing to take a risk and invest in a future despite the odds of not making it.
I'm not sure - but I hear they (SWA) like that type of personality type...
