Anyone know the size of 5/14 class and have calls gone out for the 5/28 class? Thanks

These people and their information are not what you want to be basing your future decisions on.

That's promising. Looks like I'm gonna get laid! :p

They are called First Officer Assistant Chief Pilots hence their information is as valid as the the Captain Assistant Chief Pilots. I know 2 of these three guys and they are as sharp, capable & well informed as any of the Captain assistant chiefs. The chiefs office up until April 22nd was the only advocates we had in management I for one thank them.

Your experience has been quite the opposite of mine. I won't knock yours.

I do have an issue with some of them introducing themselves to candidates as Assistant Chief Pilots.

Like it or not these guys have been put in this position and have been given the FOACP title the 2 guys I know are very specific in introducing themselves as just that. They do all the same duties as an Captain ACP and have the same responsibilities as an Captain ACP. I have no issues with anyone introducing themselves as what their company issued title is.

The chief pilots that were at the March 11th interview that told me there would be no Europe flying in JetBlue's future were ex-USair. They were both captains.

My understanding of this would tend to agree with their comments to you. If we get wide bodies, they would be to head south with. Europe via North Atlantic is far to saturated with competition.

With a european CEO in line to take over we will see however you can't discount Census Bureau statistics which indicate significant growth(40%) in the US Hispanic population in the next 30-40 years. There is merit to the projected growth in South America although at some point you need a larger aircraft to take full advantage of the markets.

Corbs 05-13-2014 01:27 PM

Got called today. Update on the process. Looks like a fall class date is the tentative plan for folks interviewing on the 8th. They said 1 class per month ... June July and August. Then ramping up a bit 2 classes September / October. My buddy showed me the results of the recent system bid. He said it looks like 125 A320 seats and 25 E190 seats to be filled by new hires throughout the rest of the year. That's the way I understand it anyway. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm very interested as people start going to class - what the size of the class is and what the split between aircraft types is then being assigned.

That's quite interesting. It sounds like, from a competitive perspective, and the rapid growth of the South American market, it seems that there are two components in the equation:

1) Rapid Growth
2) Underserved markets

Also, i believe companies can create markets and demand as well [to some degree] ... as market leaders. So, now I wonder if they do acquire a wide body, will it be an airbus product? I googled it a bit and the results indicated either a 350 or 787... but if my memory serves me correctly, that was former CEO talking 1.5 to 2 years ago.

JetDriver121 05-13-2014 03:35 PM

I know a handful of 3/11AM got called today to say hang in there, some were told phase 2 was complete and some were told it hasn't been passed along to the review board yet. 3/11 was told mid to late summer for a class date if accepted.

Tony Clifton 05-14-2014 07:39 AM

I was called yesterday as well. (April 8th interview date) I was told to expect a Fall class date.

Well said. Based on my observation of the applicants, Im going to guess 90% are pro-union, and I think most people realize they have a lot to lose over the course of a 30-yr "at will" career. Obviously its speculation.

Food for thought for the new hires: the a321 is coming. Based on FOQA data, JetBlue would have had 4 tail strikes based on the way the current fleet is being flown. That's 8 terminations (4 ca, 4 fo) with a really hard time finding a new job. As far as I know, the rest of the legacies have had multiple tailstrikes in their a321 and 737-800/900 aircraft, and even some 757 models, and none have been terminated, just re-trained in the sim. Its your job. Protect it.

Not true at all. Pilots have done bad things at JB and not been fired 1 tail strike wouldn't cause it. As I tell everyone "every pilot at JB that has been fired has worked hard earning it". Undercompensated yes but never discharged without a whole lot of cause.

radar757 06-05-2014 01:32 PM

Has anyone in the April 8th interview group heard more after Phase 2?

Nope. But hopefully that's a good thing.

Samcro 06-05-2014 06:16 PM

Interviewed late afternoon. And heard from a friend of mine on the 190 out of BOS that my name along with 30 or so others was up on the wall in the crew lounge. Don't know if that's a good thing or not. I'm hoping so.

It's a good thing... Unless there's lots of bad names with arrows pointing to yours!

Your on the short list.

Good to know, thanks.

Ted Striker 06-06-2014 06:00 AM

Is the list just from 4/8 interviews? Does being on the list generally mean you passed the phc?

I'm not certain, although another buddy of mine interviewed the same day and he was on the list too.

Ted Striker 07-03-2014 12:25 PM

Bump. Anyone from 4/8 hear any news?

Samcro 07-03-2014 01:12 PM

No news here.

ResinHead 07-03-2014 03:06 PM

I got excited when I saw this thread move to the front then what a let down... no news is good news at this point I guess. The wait is brutal but I believe it will be worth it.

flymeswa 07-04-2014 05:55 AM

My buddy got an email yesterday saying that he passed phase 2 and is in a hiring pool. Says it's not a job offer of course, but this is the first of such kind of email I've heard of.

Ted Striker 07-04-2014 06:05 AM

Were they a 4/8 interview?

When did he interview?

As has been discussed before on several of these JB threads, many seemingly qualified candidates were eliminated in phase II (after up to four months wait.) The "passed two" seems to be something new. Perhaps this is a response to the survey that was sent out to all the interviewees recently?

flymeswa 07-04-2014 07:36 AM

Yeah this person did...4/8

radar757 07-07-2014 10:17 AM

Has anyone else from April 8 heard anything? They told me they would call, so surprised about one persons email.

ResinHead 07-07-2014 09:16 PM

Nothing yet... no call or email. This wait is brutal! I want jB for many reasons and have already turned down a great opportunity that I hope doesn't bite me in the ass later. I totally understand the "bird-in-hand" but had to take a leap of faith in hopes that I don't get bounced from phase two after turning down a lifeline.

radar757 07-08-2014 07:59 AM

The wait is brutal, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end. I have no call, no email, and no letter, so still waiting. Hopefully soon. Good luck to all those waiting.

Samcro 07-11-2014 05:40 PM

Phase II complete

Got the email today! Phase 2 complete, officially in the hiring pool. Expect a class date in 3-4 months.

Interviewed April 8th @ 2pm.

I got the same email yesterday - about 2 hours after putting a contract on a house halfway across the country where I am starting the new corporate job I accepted a couple of weeks ago.

I won't be accepting a job offer with Jetblue, but certainly did enjoy my interaction with the people there. If this corporate job hadn't come through I would be relieved and excited to finally get this email. Hopefully they can streamline the hiring process.

Congrats!!!

I'll see you in class... I got the same email and interviewed same day and time slot.

Feeling thankful and very fortunate. Looking forward to the next chapter of our lives.

VTPilotMJ 07-13-2014 06:00 AM

Are there any 3/19, 3/20, 4/8 interviewees that have heard nothing? 3/20 am here and I haven't received a phase 2 email yet.

Ted Striker 07-13-2014 01:26 PM

Any 4/8 still waiting?

Ted Striker 07-22-2014 09:41 AM

:DJust passed phase II! Better late than never!!!:D
