MD-80 new operator:

Captains:
- 10,000 hrs
- 5,000 hrs PIC of large turbojet experience, or military equivalent

First Officers:
- 5,000 hrs
- 1500 hrs PIC turbojet experience, or military equivalent

Ha hope that works out for them!!!

I first so a guy with a crew badge of theirs that said "so-and-so, director of training" back around early 2011. I see they've made a lot of progress.

Also, I thought they were going to operate A320s.

North American and World recently furloughed a lot of guys. Don't underestimate the amount of folks out there with experience, just because the commuters are having trouble...

I was meaning more with all the majors hiring, but your right. There are not seats for everyone!

You'd be surprised..there's a guy in my class(not a major or regional) who has the times and is considering it. Seems the only downer is it being a startup. But people with the mins are out there and there are a lot of them.

I have a friend who is either the CP or DO here. Last I talked to him he said they were losing top end pilot management slowly and he was starting to look for other jobs because he didn't think this company would end up every flying a revenue flight.
