FLL is currently Spirit's biggest crew base at nearly 160 CA's and about 150 FO's. Folks keep talking about future growth once the terminal construction is completed, but I honestly couldn't say how that will play out.

This last decade of commuting has made it clear that I never want to deal with that nightmare again.

Seems like my only real options are Spirit/Jetblue (FLL), and AA (MIA) for what I really want. AA flow through keeps getting further and further away with continued delays.. 2.5 - 4 years away (if ever). I hate AAG and their hostile towards employee management style anyway. Not sure I could take another 30 years of that BS even though the money/retirement would be better.

Is FLL still Spirit's largest base? How does it look for growth, and long term viability?

thanks!

The most junior CA in FLL (B6) was hired 1/2007 on the July bid package. 145 CAs 161 FOs. Our most junior CA system-wide was awarded A320 out of JFK and had a hire date of 10/2012. I've been at B6 for a year and a half now, and I love it. QOL is great, pay is decent. Culture is awesome here, but we're all pilots so there's always the complainers and pessimists. But the vast majority are good people and a pleasure to fly with.

Jetblue will make more money and your neighbors won’t hate you by association.

I would pick the airline that doesn't have a California base.
