Shack, X, and all TWA folks,
Yes, most AA guys I know/fly with are very anti-TWA - in much the same manner that USAir guys are anti-AWA, NWA guys are anti-Republic, etc, etc. Apparently, for every merger/buyout that has happened in airline history, there is always resentment between the two groups.
FWIW - I don't subscribe to the above scenario simply because mergers and acqusitions are always out of the line pilots' hands. So why harbor a grudge? Instead of being a grouch with the new group, I always welcome the newcomers to our airline and treat them as one of our own, which I've always done. Simple, we're all pilots doing the same job, regardless of the uniform. I guess it's also just my personality to get along with just about anybody, and I make a lot of good friends along the way. Why more people can't do that is beyond me - life's too short.
Granted, I obviously got the $hit sandwich treatment by a select few when based in the STL - understandable, and I didn't react back, because these folks were geting furloughed and I tried and put myself in their shoes, and realized I would also be harboring a little grudge as well.
Anyways, it's a pleasure working with TWA crews - you guys bring a nice cockpit atmosphere to our airline that I wish we'd adopt - and I look forward in welcoming back a lot of you folks that will be coming back.
