Buzz,

First, thanks for your service. Beers on me if we ever cross paths. As for your cutting and running comment, what do you think the answer is? That part of the world has been fighting since time began. How long should we stay and how much money (that we don't have)should way flush down the toilet trying to convince religious and tribal nuts to get along and accept each other? Hell, just tolerate each other.

Well, 600,000 books sold so far and twice NY Times best seller list. I'd disagree with your hyperbole.

Wars, in hindsight, are always 20/20. I was embedded in Iraq in 2005. The hundreds of soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines....and Iraqis I spoke with sure though it was well-advised.

Cutting and running under Obama's watch sure wasn't the answer. Ask the Kurds...and ISIS.

Just keep on keepin' on with the MSNBC crowd. One thing Gruber was right about, most Americans are stupid.

The Tea Party and Republican extremists are threatening him that if he does it he might not be the Speaker next time. Get it?

I'll concede your point that perhaps it would have passed had Boehner forced it to floor. But you should also admit that Boehner wanted to pass an immigration bill (my original point which was deftly dodged)--by going the amnesty EO route the POTUS has ruined or at least severely set back the effort to pass a bipartisan bill. Both sides have their political reasons for not taking action (e.g. Super majorities in 2009-2010 and nothing was done by the Dems).

As to the bolded part above--??? Are you playing semantics or drawing a comparison? You realize Reid was a bigger obstructionist, right? (rhetorical--not going to go any further with this today).

I don't think they showed School House Rock in Indonesia.

If Boehner wanted to pass an immigration bill all he had to do is allow a vote on the Senate bill and it would have passed. He wasn't even willing or able to get a House Republican bill up for a vote. Why? Because the Republican game as Mitch McConnell and others have stated since inauguration day six years ago was pure obstruction.

Thanks NERD. Looking forward to running into you somewhere in the system.

While I agree with your view of the dismal state of affairs in the middle east, I believe (as did Pentagon leaders) that leaving a residual force in Iraq was the answer. Just a presence, nothing huge. Al Qaeda, ISIS, et al, always fill a vacuum. They'll do it in Afghanistan as well when we pull from there.

Talk about a waste of blood and money. I can't imagine being the parents of a young man or woman who made the ultimate sacrifice, only to be a footnote in a resurgent terror movement.

Perhaps the company endorsement is as simple as the demographics that work in and around our aircraft every day (at least domestically).

Exactly!!!

The decision to attack was and is indefensible. Maybe someday we will realize that war, especially one requiring an occupation, is a very complicated and blunt instrument that should only be used as a last resort.

One would think a nation founded from an insurgency would have a better understanding of and desire to avoid inciting them.

Buzz...what's this all about?

Is Obama going to hang the blame for ISIS on Hagel, or now is he going to go 'all in' against ISIS?

OK, enough silliness. Obama had two years of a full dem senate. They both have their political reasons for wanting it done and not wanting it done. In Boehner's case, he wanted one with tougher border security for one thing, cuz the promise of a liar to enforce it after granting amnesty isn't worth anything.
