Here's the way I see it. Alaska seems to think it's in the fight of its life, and acts like its waging jihad against Delta. gooddeal and cricket are stalwart warriors in the fight. Delta is just going about its business and not really trying to oppose Alaska and FTB et al seem to take pleasure in pushing buttons.

It's like a mosquito buzzing furiously around an elephant. The elephant takes up the entirety of the mosquito's existence but the mosquito is invisible and harmless to the elephant.

So jihad on Great White warriors! In the end, what impact will you actually have on anything of importance?

And maybe a little bit of research on your part might educate you on JNU ... Maybe the fact that there have been two fatal jet accidents in our history, and where one of them occurred might give you a clue ... Or not. Would be analogous to me saying why are you guys so bent out of shape on t-storms into DFW, or saying how easy it is to land at LGW on a snowy day...

I am sure it is only 85-100 pax. But if that's the case, why is behemoth "too big to fail (again)" DAL bothering with it? To feed its new international hub?

Or, maybe there are more pax per day than that ... Which may be why we have 4 direct flights and 3 connecting flights PER DAY from JNU to SEA. With this summer's runway closure, it will only take a couple of DAL diverts for the word to get out that DAL doesn't get you where you want to go...

Putz!

To my knowledge we've never had any snow-incidents at London Gatwick.

How long have you been in this industry again?

Judas priest. How often does it snow in London? After only 8 months in this industry, you are a legend in your own mind.

Clown

For the love of God, it's two great airlines doing great things right now. Can we end this ****ing contest?

In a word:

No.

We are Pilots, it's what we do. :D

Speaking of pizzing contests...

Hillary and Bill are walking back to the hotel after dinner in NYC. Hillary tells Bill, "I'll bet I can pizz higher than you can.

Bill says, "NO WAY!"

Hillary ducks into an ally, drops panty, backs up to a wall and gives it her best shot.

Bill is laughing, "Ha! Is that all you got? I can beat that easily!" and proceeds to unzip and put forth.

Just as he's about to squirt up the wall, Hillary says, "Ah Ah Ah...NO HANDS!".

Alaska rarely carries a SEA alternate in SE AK...

Thanks for clarifying that your comment is just "the way you see it." That means it isn't necessarily based in reality or any type of logical reasoning. But I will give you a high five for amusing me! Alaska could care less about Delta except in regards to gate space in Seattle. Everything else is just an annoyance....like Delta going to Juneau or Sitka. You guys are a joke up there and you know it. You fly a small pool of instructor pilots on a barely capable, empty 757s and poach a few summer fisherman out of an enormous supply. Whoop-dee-doo. As for the rest, there is plenty of business to go around and Alaska has a loyal following that will keep them profitable. Their planes are stuffed. I don't know about your loads but as long as we are full, I don't care. You think you are a big deal because you are large due to a merger but you have much larger problems than the Eskimo. Emirates, Norwegian and all the other international airlines after your bread and butter. Maybe you should troll those forums because they really matter to your bottom line and job. RA wants Seattle to get an edge on the competition but you may be just too big and impersonal to make much of a dent with Alaska's customers. Maybe the extra gate space to be constructed will help Delta but your reputation in customer service and your CASM will ensure the Eskimo keeps going strong.
