That's great and I think you're going about it correctly. I think the conversation more pertains to the fact that it's difficult to "boost" your app score when one of the largest (allegedly) boosters is something you can't control. I, along with a lot of folks "know a guy" who had 3 legacy jobs in his pocket with a whopping 100 hours of jet PIC time. Good for him, he's a really good dude. Are there other really good dudes that are way more qualified? Yep, and they aren't hearing anything. It's not immaturity when people are frustrated with facts, it's just people being frustrated.

Only thing I've seen from Delta is that 7% of new hires last year were women. I've never sees any breakdown of male vs female experience. The Air Force seems to have had (observational, I don't have hard numbers) 15-20% female makeup of UPT classes for the last long time. Meaning that women make up a larger portion of Air Force pilot ranks than Delta new hire. Which doesn't necessarily mean anything, other than there is no shortage of qualified women leaving the Air Force.

No so much. Most classes are men on the average. But I think that just has to do with pure desire of job not so much of any quota. Also just the pure fact more men join up I think.

It's who you know. 2 males. Both army pilots. Same age. Both white. One gets hired with 1/2 the flight time because he knew someone at united who got him an interview. Is it fair? Not sure but it is what it is.

Everytime you see/hear someone you deem less than deserving get hired, it ****es you off. That's not a conspiracy against white males, it's just immaturity on your part.

I have been updating apps at 7 airlines for two years now and I also am a casualty of the post-9/11 era, but I'm not pointing fingers at others. Instead, I am trying to do more networking and looking for ways to boost my app scores. I humbly suggest others do the same vs blaming unfair hiring practices.

two years, I applied at AS for 21, UPS 16, UAL 14, AA, 14, DL 14 and FEDEX for 12. No finger pointing, just a fact of statistics. I don't attend J.O.B. fairs, but network like crazy. Back in the day when Kit was making a mint of those things I A didn't have the money and B didn't have the time. Now I won't part with the money and won't part with the time. Besides, it nice to not have to JS to work, I am kind of addicted to this benefit.
