KCM
Just got an email saying that KCM may no longer be used internationally for personal travel. CLEARLY a knee jerk reaction by lawmakers to the one dumbass FA that blew it in LAX.
Anyone know who we can write to voice our Displeasure? |

This was actually in the works before all of the recent KCM incidents, including the one you mentioned. It was a push from ICAO to standardize international policy worldwide and not a punitive reaction.

yeah this was already in the works before the jetblue fa incident.

Yeah, that was sketchy policy to begin with. We require other nations to meet certain standards for security screening of pax inbound to the US, so we can't really send pax their way who circumvented the system...didn't pass the sniff test.

But whatever, I guess it is good enough for operating a jet to another country but if you are a passenger to that same country all the sudden you are a possible criminal. |

At least you must understand how one could think that without prior knowledge... |
What I was sent from Teamsters
"In the coming weeks, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will be implementing a major change to the KCM program. Crewmembers traveling on international personal travel (not business travel or deadheading) can no longer use the KCM lanes and must be screened through a passenger screening checkpoint. (Pre-Check or other lanes). Crew members are no longer allowed to use the KCM access point for personal travel from the U.S. to an international location." How they would know whether or not I was going on company business or personal travel is anyones guess. |
