Best sunglasses for the bus
Having a hard time finding sunglasses that work on the Airbus. Dark enough for sunlight and they are too dark to read the panel.
Light enough tint to read the PFD and I'm blinded by the sun. My raybans I've used for years are too dark. What brand and model have people had luck with? Serengeti? Drivers gradient? |

Get this and whatever sun glasses you want. Looks dumb, works good. |
Rayban sells glasses with a gradient. That is dark on top, lighter on the bottom. Got a pair about a year ago and love them. Had to order from their website at the time to get those lenses...i've seen them advertised at other sites since then. They didn't cost anymore than the regular lenses.
If you are ALPA the magazine had an article sometime back about gradients and which color to choose as a pilot. Might be able to search for it. |
Nothing is better for eye fatigue than Serengeti. I would suggest Serengeti Velocity with Driver's Gradient.

You guys are slipping...
Every Airbus pilot wears standard issue F-teener Milspec Ray Bans! http://www.thefashionisto.com/wp-con...ty-Picture.jpg |
I'm having the same problem finding shades on the bus. For those that like Serengetis, do you have non-polarized lenses on them? Or does the polarization of the drivers gradient work on the Airbus screens?
