I think I read a post a few days ago from ShortBusDrive that they were so short-staffed over the Valentine's Day weather period that most of the pilots ran out of time (30/7). If that's the case why would they stop hiring? Anyone from Spirit care to enlighten us please?

I just emailed someone yesterday about trying to get a friend on here. They have an interview list (which he is on, now just waiting for the OK from CP to actually interview him).
Interviewing in March for April 9th class. After that, I don't know.
As far as being short. They are for now, until pilots get through training and on line. So maybe they WILL have enogh after the training is finished???

Dundem, I have been applying for the last 4 months and updating every 15 days, with a recommendation and I have not been called. My total time is 2445 hours.
I will tell you in 3 weeks.
good luck

As far as 2500 hrs. I am pretty sure they are sticking to it. I heard from an FO I flew with, that they passed up a guy because he didn't have the 2500 hrs. (Turns out he was flying B1B, and other crazy types of A/C, but he didn't have the total time.) B.S. I don't know, but I wouldn't doubt it.
Good luck to all.

When I interviewed (jan 17th?) they said 70 this year; then about 2 hours later they came back and said it would be closer to 80-90 this year. They mentioned that info. had just been released that morning.

Just got in to RSW. I got an email from the Chief Pilot yesterday that my friend is "in the que for an interview". I am going to call him today, and see if he has heard anything.
Right now it seems they are short pilots. Busy time of the year, and more destinations coming up. Chief Pilot, and checkairman,EVERYONE is flying! I am on reserve, and haven't got to sit at home.
So I would assume (don't say it), they will keep interviewing.
