WHAT!!!!!! No MEC is "obligated" to work with another MEC or support their actions. Especially if it is leading to a dead end.
The deal would happen with or without. So, why not set the contract floor at a more favorable position for "joint" contract negotiations. By the way, NWALPA can join the process now and a new contract could be negotiated.
There will have to be a single contract to move forward for the company to function efficiently. Look to AAA/AWA at what can happen to synergies without a single contract.
NWA still has their contract, so what have they lost?
