As Kenny Rogers said "Never count your cards while sitting at the table, there will be plenty time to count when the dealing's done".

Isn't your sandwich reference the title of the review to Spinal Tap's "Shark Sandwich"?

Carl - why would a guy 10% pre-merger and 10% post merger not be fair? DOH is irrelevant without a national seniority list. Are 1995 hires at AMR senior to Southwest pilots hired in 998? No they are not. Hell, I received my Navy Wings in 1988, if DOH can be carried across different entities then I guess I should push for a 1988 DOH.

If what you say was relevant in any way, there would be no DOH mergers by arbitrators. Fact is, most arbitrated awards include some or all DOH components. ALPA merger policy used to state that the preferred method was DOH with fences to even out any imbalances. There is a very long history of DOH in arbitrations. Will that occur here, who knows.

Maybe you don't have nothing to lose. Now hate me!
Then you should push for it Bigflya...and no, I don't hate you. I would actually prefer to have my pension terminated and paid out as a lump sum. If we've learned anything from this bankruptcy it was how flimsy a defined benefit pension is. Give me a defined contribution any day and I'll take responsibility for managing it.

Carl,

Yup, would love to have the pension handed over to us ala the green book annuities. Bigflya, I can support cancelling the A-plan.......I get a raise if it goes to the PBGC! Just kidding Carl.....

Ferd <----will need a raise to offset the Delta hat fines
