What will be interesting will be to see what happens to the unions now on the NWA property... I'm betting they go away (with the possible exception of the FAs, which are voting on AFA, and boy will THAT be fun to watch). Anybody from NWA hearing anything?

I don't think the IAM will be easy to get rid of. They represent rampers, agents and res agents and thats a whole lotta people at NWA.

I think your right. Will be just awholelotta leaflet passing out and voting for the next several years. Just a funny asside, one of our union officer type FAs was relating a story of when he was talking to a Delta FA about AFA. She said "I'd love to join but myyyy daddy would just disown me if I joined a union"

Yes, I believe they do. Talk to them sometime and see how they feel about this merger. We're all in this together. I think the IAM will put up a fairly good fight so as not to lose their share..they have already lost a lot with the B/K. How about your dispatchers?..small group but still very important to the operation. I believe Delta has an inhouse union, or association, and NWA has the TWU. I don't see two dispatch offices..so it will probably will be located in ATL. After talking to alot of my friends, they feeling I get is that all you hear about in the news is the pilots, and not one other employee group being mentioned. Their are a lot of people that are going to be affected by this merger. I think all employees are important to get the job done. after all this ranting, this is still a pilot forum:D

Of course I don't know the big picture wrt to certification/decertification of unions, but I do know that the WAL FAs were unionized... the PAA FAs were union... and they are not now. See a pattern? I'm betting that when DAL has the entire enchilada, those other unions will go the way of the DoDo too... I have been wondering about this for some time...
