Default Which combo would create the largest airline?

With all the mergers reportedly on the horizon, which combination would become the new #1 in terms of size?

A better question is, which combo would be able to make money?

United/USAir, or Delta/NWA? Who will be BIGGER, and who is likely to make more money?

that's the second time in this thread you've asked that question...what's with the size fixation?

Does it really matter? And if it does, are you asking about size in terms of... employees? passengers carried? number of airplanes? operating revenue? bags of peanuts?

DAL + NWA + Air France/KLM. AF is eyeballing Alitalia or whatever MIGHT (hopefuly not) be left of them in the future.

As far as only US airlines combo you got to look ahead too and see how much they'd overlap and downsize. Which with our pilot brains is hard to do.

After the probable downsizing, it is anyone's guess.

Right now Delta is bigger than United and US Air is a little bigger than NWA. So, you would have to say US Air/UAL would be bigger.
