Oberstar wants DOJ to block NWA/Delta Merger

No, but you can waterski, jet-ski, waverun, etc., about 8 months out of the year down here. And just because a southern company will be the main entity doesn't mean you can't still snowboard up there. Actually, I'd stay up there. I moved to ATL last year and have had 6 colds since then. Prior to that, I had two in ten years. The air quality is lousy down here. Plus, we don't take a state holiday here when buck season starts.

Well, maybe not in Metro Atlanta, but you go out to the "real" Georgia counties and see if you can find anyone working on opening day. Of course, you might hear some banjo music.

When was the last time the Winter Oympics were held in Minnesota? Salt Lake City is a DAL hub and I hear you can ski and snowboard there, but I'm sure its not as good as the MSP resorts. Another downside is that its a whole 35 minutes from the resorts to the airport (guys ski on shortcall) but I'm sure the MSP ski resorts are a lot closer to the airport than that.

Yes, but when the Canadians invade the US, you will be on the front lines. They will lock you away in a remote hockey rink and shout "Good day, eh!" at you until you capitulate. Scary stuff.

Ever heard of Buck Hill? The one from the Replacements song. It's not Brighton or Alta but it is only 10 minutes to the airport. It's an ice rink on a hill. If you can ski there you can ski anywhere.

By the way more Winter Olympians have come from Minnesota then any other state per capita

If you like it in MN you will love it after the merger. There will be a gradual shift in seniority and your ability to hold equipment will improve a lot over time as people transfer to bases closer to where they live. I have seen it after every merger. People always say they are not going to transfer before the merger but as soon as the bids start flowing they transfer closer to where they live. The pilot demographics between the two groups are well known. LAX, SLC, SEA and ATL will take the brunt of this shift in flying and will become much more senior. The junior bases will shake out as JFK, MSP, DTW. Take a look at JFK for Delta and you will have a idea of the future of MSP if the merger happens. It should make you happy!!!
