How does the AP know before any of us?

This afternoon, at 30 p.m. EDT, the ratification window for the Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA) closed. Out of 6231 eligible Delta pilots, 5120, or 82.17 percent cast their vote. Of those, 3161, or 61.74 percent voted “In Favor” of the agreement. Out of 4371 eligible Northwest pilots, 3535, or 80.87 percent cast their vote. Of those, 3067, or 86.76 percent voted “In Favor” of the agreement.

Congratulations to both sides. 61% for and 39% against on the Delta side is a pretty good mandate.

This is a terrific start for us.

Or put another way 50.73% of eligible DL voters voted yes. Doesn't look like the strongest mandate.
