I don't think the DC-9 qualifies.

She's just old, wrinkled, and completely ugly now. She may have been the prom queen in 1966, but she's had 12 kids and 5 husbands since then (one of whom was her son's best friend).

No amount of Botox or spin can bring back her former beauty. Let's just put her out of her misery.
Heyas,

You're just a hater. The truth is that you arn't man enough to satisfy her. She told me herself.

You're exactly right about that acl. It is just amazing how fast things change in this world economy. Hard to keep up.

If you put ANY aircraft in a competent pilots hands it is a thing of beauty.

No FMC, LNAV, or VNAV allowed.

Might your real misery be called the 3:1 ratio?

That's my misery alright. Being turned down by 3 women for every 1 that just slaps me.

Carl,

That's a pretty bad ratio. I think you have to bid those 6 day MNL trips. Your ratio may get better there.

The worst part about this thread is if it is true, then it generates another ****ing contest about which pilots get to fly the 777 obtained by trading the 787 slots.

I'd say Delta because we were getting the 777s anyways.

If I had been a passenger I'd waited on the E jet to get fixed, those things are a nice ride (even if they are on the wrong side of the fence) and frankly the DC9 sucks and everyone knows it.

As to whether the DC9 can get the job done anymore all you have to do is look at whats being parked and whats being bought.

No FMC, LNAV, VNAV in a Piper Cub is awesome, in a Part 121 airliner its nothing to brag about.

As to the 3:1 ratio, it isn't near as scary as the 1:1 ratio, whether for every DC9 thats scrapped do we buy 1 mainline replacement or 1 RJ replacement. Thats the ratio we're afraid of.

FYI The first two 787s being delivered to NWA are already being painted in NW colors.
